This week, Ira spoke with Brian “Paco” Álvarez, CEO of Psionic Art Works, a cultural and curatorial consultancy in Las Vegas. In this episode of Talk About Las Vegas, Paco talks about how culture has evolved in Las Vegas; why art increases business; the new frontier of computers interacting with the human mind; how public art has a purpose, bringing a sense of place; the experiential appeal of new Las Vegas venues; and why Downtown Las Vegas is leading the way in the cultural revolution; and the future.
Las Vegas native Brian “Paco” Álvarez is an anthropologist, entrepreneur and one of Las Vegas’ preeminent cultural arts experts. He holds a master’s degree in Urban Leadership from the School of Public Policy and Leadership at the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs at UNLV and a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology. His passion for art and culture has been the driving force behind his career.

Thoroughly enjoyed Brian “Paco” Alvarez’s talking about Las Vegas and the arts. Couldn’t agree with him more. There is more to Vegas than casinos.
