This week, Ira spoke with comedian Vinnie Favorito, headlining at Notoriety Live, November 8-9 at 9 p.m. In this episode of “Talk About Las Vegas With Ira,” Vinnie talks about his new show at Notoriety Live; his long career in Las Vegas; moving back to Boston; why he’s an “intimate-type crowd comic”; how he is politically incorrect, but with likeability; his 24-hour energy; how his memory is an integral part of his act; why Jerry Lewis always made him laugh; and why people love to see people “ragged on.”
Vinnie Favorito, a Bostonian native began his hilarious career in 1985, when he started performing as a stand-up comedian. He quickly became a regular in clubs up and down the East Coast. In the late 1990s he moved to Los Angeles where he began headlining in well-known comedy venues including the Improv and the Comedy Store. He soon became known as “the” celebrity roaster. During his career, he has roasted such celebrities as Tom Arnold, Magic Johnson, Jerry Springer, Pat O’Brien and even the late Larry King.
Vinnie’s sharp tongue and quick wit, has earned him appearances on the “Best Damn Sports Show Period,” “The Late Late Show” with Craig Kilborn and a variety of Comedy Central shows. He’s been performing on television and in comedy clubs for more than 20 years. On his second stage appearance ever, Vinnie won a Top 40 Star Search Competition, simply on the strength of his natural wit and more than two decades after his debut, the comedian has been headlining in Vegas since 2003.
