What started as a three-week contract turned into one of the longest-running mentalism shows in Las Vegas history. In this revealing episode, Gerry explains exactly why the show works — and why every performance is completely unique.

With as many as 75 audience members participating each night and nothing set up in advance, Gerry’s show is built on authentic, personal interaction. “Stick to what you do best,” he says — a philosophy that helped shape his brand and guide his move to the Strip, including his time at the legendary Stardust Resort and Casino.

Gerry opens up about mental rehearsal, rating his routines, learning from every audience, and how his sons — who work with him — provide honest feedback that keeps the show sharp. He also shares why Vegas audiences are unlike any other in the world… and why so many come back again and again.

It’s a fascinating look at longevity, branding, and mastering your craft in the entertainment capital of the world.

Gerry McCambridge took his love for magic, and mixed it with the observational skills he learned from his father, a New York City Detective, to create the character of “The Mentalist.”

He started performing as “The Mentalist” in 1987 in comedy clubs across the country, Fortune 500 corporate events, and ultra exclusive “A-List” celebrity parties. Gerry also appeared on countless radio and TV talk shows.

In 2002, he wrote his first TV show titled “The Mentalist.” The show aired on NBC to millions in the United States. It also aired to millions more in Australia,

New Zealand, the U.K., South Korea, Canada, Africa, Thailand, India, the Netherlands and the Middle East.

In the summer of 2004 Gerry performed his one man show “The Mentalist” to critical acclaim Off Broadway in New York City.

In 2005, he moved his one-man show to Las Vegas where he continues to perform nightly.
