Bill Anderson, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame who has been capturing the attention of country music fans around the world for more than 50 years, will be performing in the Chrome Showroom at Santa Fe Station Hotel Casino on Friday, October 25 at 8 p.m.
A South Carolina native, Anderson is one of the most awarded songwriters in the history of country music, as well as an accomplished actor and host. At the age of 19, he composed the country classic “City Lights,” which was recorded by Ray Price and quickly climbed to the top of the country charts.
Other songwriting credits include Connie Smith’s number-one hit “Once a Day,” Mark Wills’ “Wish You Were Here,” Steve Wariner’s Grammy Award-nominated single “Two Teardrops,” Brad Paisley’s “Too Country,” Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss’ ballad “Whiskey Lullaby,” which received the Country Music Award’s “Song of the Year,” and “Give It Away,” which was recorded by George Strait and received the Academy of Country Music Award for “Song of the Year.”
